The Samsung Chromebook 2 packs a huge punch, but it comes with a big price too. The Samsung Chromebook 2 13-inch edition is the only kind we will review, because the 11-inch isn’t even worth our time since its mediocre compared to other Chromebooks. Specs Review: These specs make this laptop a beast-mode Chromebook. 4GB RAM will allow this Chromebook to be efficient for years to come. The Octacore processor will keep it snappy and quick, and the rest of the specs are average for Chromebooks. The battery isn’t stellar, but it isn’t bad either. The catch is that this Chromebook is usually $300-400, which is much more expensive than most Chromebooks.
Customer Review Summary (from online reviews)

- “The screen could be better.”
- “This thing is a joy to type on… They are not back-lit.”
Conclusion for College Students: I will repeat what I said in my What is a Chromebook guide, Chromebooks aren’t for everyone. People who need a laptop for heavy-duty applications won’t be able to use a Chromebook since it is mainly for online based applications like Google Docs, Netflix, etc. If you CAN make use of a Chromebook, the Samsung Chromebook 2 packs a huge punch but is more expensive compared to other Chromebooks like the Acer C720 and the ASUS Chromebook. If Chromebooks are what you really want to purchase and money isn’t an issue, I suggest the Samsung Chromebook 2 because it will last you for at least 4 years.
Update: For a real comparison to the Samsung Chromebook, check out the Asus Chromebook.
