Specs Review: The HP Stream 13 doesn’t need any crazy specs to do what it is meant to do. It is meant for storing files in the cloud, and doing basic computer tasks. If you plan to do any sort of gaming or CAD software usage, I would stay away. The HP Stream 13’s screen is a good size for usage in class and at home, but if you need a bigger or smaller screen, there is a 11-inch and 15-inch version as well. The resolution is perfect for this screen size. The processor and memory and GPU should suffice for a cloud-based laptop, because you won’t need any power for software anyway since the main use for this laptop is document editing and browsing the web. The hard drive will be nice and speedy since it is flash memory, something made popular by Apple’s Macbook Air. Wireless capability is just fine, and the battery life is incredible for such a cheap laptop. The battery life will last you pretty much all day, so you can bring this thing with you to class, Panera Bread, and back to your dorm and you should be just fine. It is also pretty light so you won’t have an issue carrying it around.

Conclusion for College Students: If you want to watch some Netflix, write some papers, and browse the internet efficiently, the HP Stream 13 might just be the laptop for you. This is for the pretty much all college students besides Architects, Art, and Engineering students. You can easily take it to class, and it will last you most probably your whole day. This seriously a budget laptop. If you’re tight on money, and need something reliable, get this laptop. It is only about $225, which takes less than a week to make at a minimum wage job. The cloud will keep all your important files synced, and that’s about it. So in conclusion, if you’re broke af, don’t like the idea of a Chromebook, and need a good laptop, this is the one for you.
