The ASUS F556UA-AB32 is this year’s revision of ASUS’s entry level laptop line. It stands out because of its rather low price considering the specs included, and is perfect for every day work, schoolwork and as a multimedia device. First off, the ASUS F556UA-AB32 features a 15.6” 1080p display, which is rare on low-end models. It is powered by 4GB of DDR4 RAM, and a sixth generation Intel Core i3 CPU, which is the best one available from the series. This combo ensures that doing your everyday tasks for both school and work will pass with no lag or crashes. I hope you didn’t plan on playing Crysis 3 or some other demanding game, as it only has an integrated Intel HD Graphics. For watching movies or videos in FullHD however, it’s more than enough. We also have a 1TB HDD, providing plenty of storage.
The laptop sports a sleek design, featuring a matte coating on the silver palm rest, and the back of the screen is black with concentric circles – all made out of high quality materials. The ASUS F556UA-AB32 also includes ASUS’s proprietary IceCool technology, meaning that your wrists will not burn up from prolonged use, due to excellent cooling component positioning inside the laptop. ASUS also opted to include their SonicMaster speaker system, which provide a deeper-than-usual bass for an entry level laptop, as well as a full numeric keyboard. The keyboard doesn’t have a backlight, but that’s not surprising considering the laptop’s price.
For the I/O we have a standard lineup: one USB Type-C port, two USB-A ports (one 3.0 and one 2.0), HDMI and VGA for connecting to external displays, standard 3.5 audio jacks, a gigabit ethernet port, and a Super Multi DVD-RW/CD-RW optical drive.

Conclusion for College Students:
So, would I recommend this laptop to you? Well, if you’re on a budget, or don’t need a high-end gaming machine, then my answer is yes, most definitely. While it certianly won’t win any performance awards, it has everything an average college student could need for his/hers projects at college, and even more. The 1080p display also makes sure you have a crisp image, and keep in mind that this is rare on low end laptops. The ASUS F556UA-AB32 also has a strong battery which should make it trough most of your lectures with average use. Its screen size and low weight also make it portable and easy to fit in most bags. And it even comes with a Windows 10 Home liscence. With the ASUS F556UA-AB32 being around the 390$ price tag, it’s probably the best laptop you can get in its class.
