The top surface is made of black plastic with the matte finish & a nice Acer branding on it. The bottom surface is also made of plastic. The built quality is not so good because there is no aluminum or metallic material. Worst display ever! It has 15.6” FHD screen with LED backlight. The resolution is 1920 × 1080. The display is not very bright. The brightness is 195 nits so you can’t you this laptop outdoors. You can’t do color accurate work here because the color gamut & color accuracy is worst. The viewing angles are bad. At the top of the display, there is a webcam. It is 720p HD. But the image quality is not great. The ports selection is worst. On the right side, 1 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0 ports & 1 USB Type C, Ethernet & HDMI port. On the other side, SD card slot & DVD Drive. There is no thunderbolt 3. So, you can’t connect external GPUs. Because of the 2 USB ports (USB 3.0 & USB 2.0) are too close to each other you can’t connect 2 drives properly. But the good thing is it has

So, if you are still working with the DVDs then this is for you. The keyboard comes with a backlight so it allows you to work in dim light areas. It has 1.6mm of key travel. The keys are good and it produces decent sound while typing. The typing experience is good. The number pad is on the right side if the keyboard. Overall I like this keyboard. The trackpad is decent. The tracking is accurate. The buttons feel good but little stiff.
By the side of speakers, Acer did very well job. The speakers are quite good. It is very loud but at maximum volume sound gets distort. The sound quality is good and clear but bass is poor. So, overall I like the speakers of Acer Aspire E5. The fans are good. It cools down the system very well but you bottom part of the laptop gets too hot so you can’t put the laptop on your lap for a long time. It has a 65WH battery which gives you around 9-10 hours of battery life which is excellent. I really like the battery performance of Acer Aspire E5. So, you don’t have to take the charger with you every time.

Online Customer Summary:
- The best windows laptop for a $600 budget, go for it!
- All you want at the right price
- Be very careful, fragile monitor and prone to black screens of death.
I like Acer Aspire E5 laptop but except some specs like a bad display, worst built quality, bad ports selection & webcam. But the other specs are good enough for a $600 laptop, which handle decent gaming and powerful processor. So, if you are content creator or video editor or gamer then this is not for you because of bad display. But if you are a regular student then this is best for you because of excellent battery life and it handle random student work very well. It is a very heavy laptop so you can’t carry with you all time.
